The purpose of this Social Studies assignment is to evaluate the conditions of everyday life for diverse peoples living in British North America in the mid-1800s, including Aboriginal peoples, African-Canadians and Acadians.

Part A) Create a W5 summary of each of the following groups. Who are they? What are some of the challenges they faced? Where did they live?  When did they arrive? Why do you think they are an important part of history?

Black Colonists (pg 88)

Part B)

Your task: Create a poster which includes both your summary and a visual representation of one of the above groups. Also include 'how' this group of settlers supported themselves.

How: This can be done on a Single PowerPoint slide, MicrosoftWord document, or Mindjet.com (only if you've already signed up for an account at home), or on a piece of paper.
