Impact of Technology Research Project - Social Studies Nine


Your task: In a group of three you will research and present how technology in the past, present, and future impacts employment, transportation, communications, manufacturing, and home life here in Atlantic Canada.
The presentation:


1) Complete the outline on the back of the page:

2) Written paragraph detailing how technology has impacted employment, transportation, communications, manufacturing, and home life here in Atlantic Canada.
3) A collage of technology which has impacted our lives in Atlantic Canada. This should include images from all categories employment, transportation, communications, manufacturing, and home life.  Technologies should be labeled.
4) A presentation to the class as a group of three explaining to the class your research and sharing it with the class...this may be developed into a video or audio book if time permits.

Rubric:

Outline - all sections are complete with at least two sentences of detail. 5 pts

Paragraph - has a clear beginning, middle, and end 3 pts
            - has at least two sentences of thoughtful details regarding each category - employment, transportation, communications, manufacturing, and home life. 10 pts
            - conventions – grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary. 4 pts
     - 3 sources in a bibliography. 3pts

Collage - This should include labeled images which clearly connect to each of the categories employment, transportation, communications, manufacturing, and home life. 10pts

Presentation  - content is clearly presented - 5 pts
- has thoughtful details regarding each category -  10 pts
                    - make good use of  images in presentation 5 pts
