A) Current Events:
With
a partner view five different internet news sources (one must be a
blog), and determine what the most important news stories are today.
Be
ready to report to the class:
- Sources of news you read
- A list of the the top five most important news articles ranked from most important to least important.
- A short explanation of why you chose your top ranked news article to be number one. Justify why it was so important.
- Did you find any bias in the news? (challenge yourself)

B)

go to the above youtube video, and view it. Please do not explore
the side bar or comments, just play the video in full screen and
enjoy.
Once
finished viewing video answer the following questions in a blog post:
- Is the Fox News reporter lying?
- Why is this an example of bias in the news?
- Some people say the news is always bias? Do you believe this is true or false, and why?
Be
ready to share your thoughts with the class, and once finished
comment on what others have read...

Task:
In a group of three to four students (please ensure everyone is
included) create a news reporter skit, which is bias in some way.
The
skit should be taped using the school video camera...
If
there is extra time, there are board games in my cupboards the
students can play...
